Setup

Sit upright at the edge of a sturdy chair. Place your surgical foot flat on the floor in front of you with the knee at approximately 90 degrees.

Movement

Slide your foot backward under the chair, bending your knee as far as comfortable. Use your non-surgical foot to help push the surgical foot further back if needed. When you reach your limit, hold for 5–10 seconds. Then slide the foot back out to the starting position.

Tip

Gravity and your body weight provide the overpressure in this position. You can also use your non-surgical leg on top of the surgical shin to add gentle downward pressure to increase the bend.
