Setup

Lie on your back on a bed or the floor with both legs straight and your arms resting at your sides. If you have a smooth slide board, rest your legs on it so the heel glides easily.

Movement

Slowly slide the heel of one leg along the surface toward your bottom, bending your hip and knee as far as is comfortable. Pause for a moment, then slowly slide the heel back out until the leg is straight again.

Tip

Keep your heel touching the surface the whole time and slide it in a straight line toward you — don't let the knee drop out to the side. Bend only as far as a gentle stretch, never sharp pain. No board? A small towel or a plastic bag under the heel works too.
